How CBSA Processes Personal Shipments from NepalĀ

All international courier consignments coming into Canada are processed through the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). For consignments from Nepal, which is not a CUSMA member, the de minimis limit for the courier mode of shipment is CAD 20: items valued beyond CAD 20 can attract both duty charges and GST/HST based on their total declared value. Under the CLVS program of CBSA, shipments valued up to CAD 3,300 and meeting the necessary criteria enjoy faster and easier processing.

For shipments valued higher than CAD 3,300, a formal declaration must be filed for the consignment. In cases of postal shipment, the CBSA issues a form E14 (CBSA Postal Import Form) for all consignments up to a value of CAD 3,300, while Canada Post forwards the packages directly to the consignee, indicating duties payable. We pack each of our personal consignments to include a packing list, exact declared values, and explanation of personal usage three things that help the CBSA clear your consignment quickly.
